Working with departments

There are basically two possibilities to display departments with Untis MultiUser:

• External resources : Each department is represented as an individual school, and elements that are shared by departments are treated as elements that are shared by schools. This method is interesting for very large schools as only the data of one department is loaded.

• Pooled data management : All data is stored centrally in the database.

Whereas working with external resources allows processing of data only within the department (such as optimisation or cover planning), pooled data management makes it possible to apply all functions to the data of the entire school

Pooled data management is therefore the preferred approach for those schools whose volume of data does not affect the speed of Untis too much
