All information about improvements and new features of Untis can also be found here.
Untis runs on modern Windows systems. The following overview distinguishes between a minimal environment, where the program may function, and a recommended environment for full support and optimal performance.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| Operating System | Windows 8.1 Windows Server 2012 R2 | Windows 10 or newer Windows Server 2016 or newer |
| Processor | Dual-core CPU (from 2 GHz) | Multi-core CPU with at least 16 threads (for faster optimization) |
| Memory | 2 GB | 8 GB or more |
| Disk Space | 1 GB free space | SSD recommended, at least 1.5 GB free |
| Local administrator rights are required for installation | ||
Additional Requirements for MultiUser Operation
Untis supports operation with multiple users via a central database. Supported systems:
| Database System | Versions |
|---|---|
| MySQL | 8.0.x, 8.1.x, 8.4 LTS |
| Microsoft SQL Server | 2016 – 2022 (also without compatibility mode) |
| Microsoft Access | Still supported, but a SQL-based system is recommended for MultiUser operation |
Notes
- Systems outside the recommended specifications may work but are not tested or supported.
- When using modern optimization features, users benefit significantly from powerful hardware with a high thread count.
- The new partial course optimization and new total course optimization (Course scheduling module) are only available in the 64-bit version of Untis 2026.
Additional Information
Untis 2026 has the following dependencies, which are installed automatically during setup if not already present. In some cases, manual installation of these dependencies may be necessary:
- .NET Framework 4.7.1
- Microsoft C++ 2015-2022 Runtime (the architecture must match that of Untis)
If you install Untis 2026 on a server and provide it via a network share, all dependencies must also be installed on the client PCs.
